Paws for Reading
By
Courtney Radford

Ms. Radford is a reading specialist teacher at Lynn Road Elementary School in Raleigh. Ms. Radford works closely with the B.A.R.K.S. teams and students.

All of the students names have been changed. The names appearing in this poem are fictional.  Any resemblance to real people is purely coincidental.

In the year 2006, Helping Paws
found a really good cause.

The students at Lynne Rd.
were in a serious reading mode.

Michael and Dillon read with Shellie
Who loved to listen while on her belly.

Teddy read with Seth, Bill and Jack
Lots of love Teddy never did lack.

Phoebe greeted  Gina and Jenny with a bark
She loved her job and would have stayed until dark

Shelby sat with Vicki and Laurie
Oh how he loved to hear a great story

Peppermint Patty loved to hear
Josh and Laura read into her ear

Chipper listened to Jim and Rosa read
Oh how we love a dog who does a good deed

Our friend Gracie loved to look
while Devon and Maggie read her a book

To all our good friends we did meet
we would love to end our year with a treat

AS a way to say thank you for all you have done
For without you all,
we would not have had nearly the fun.
